Boon Homie vs Homie Pro: Is Hot Water Worth the Extra ₹4,000?
Published 8 November 2026

Boon Homie and Boon Homie Pro purify water the same way. The ₹4,000 difference buys three things: instant hot water, a stainless-steel storage tank, and Track, which gives each family member their own profile and daily goal. If your home drinks hot water every day or more than one person wants to keep track of what they drink, Homie Pro is the one to get. If neither applies, Homie is the better value.
What Both Share
Homie Pro does everything Homie does, so start with the common ground:
- UltraOsmosis purification: sediment pre-filtration, carbon for chlorine and chemical taste, an RO membrane rated for input up to 2000 TDS, and in-line LED UV before the tank.
- Water Profiles: Active for after exercise and mornings, Daily for everyday drinking and cooking, and Bev for brewing tea and coffee. One press, no app needed. Our Water Profiles explainer covers each one.
- Mineral Enhancers: Balance, Uplift and Reboot, each on its own cartridge, tune the taste and mineral profile of the water.
- WaterAI monitoring: input and output TDS, temperature, filter health and self-diagnostics, with a cove light that shows alerts at a glance. More on WaterAI.
- Manual filling in a power cut: Boon’s patented design lets you draw stored, already-purified water by hand when the power is out. Our guide to purifiers during power cuts explains why that matters.
- Design: wall-mounted, soft-touch dispensing, glass front with LED display, stainless-steel nozzle, internal noise damping.
- Service: installed by Boon’s own team, with a 10-day money-back guarantee.
What Homie Pro Adds
- Instant hot water. Water is heated as it is dispensed, not stored hot. There is no hot tank running all day and nothing left over to reboil.
- A stainless-steel storage tank. Purified water is held in steel, alongside the stainless-steel nozzle. Our comparison of steel vs plastic tanks explains why many buyers care.
- Track. Each family member gets a user ID in the app. Press Track on the unit to switch to yourself, and set your own daily goal.
That takes the buttons from three (Active, Daily, Bev) to five (Active, Daily, Bev, Hot, Track).

The Hot Water Test
The easiest way to decide is to count how often hot water is used in your home on a winter day. Tea and coffee rounds, warm water for elders, haldi or jeera water in the morning, instant oats, a flask for work. If the answer is “several times a day, by several people”, the hot button pays for itself in convenience: no kettle to fill, no waiting, no leftover water reboiled through the day, and no scale in a kettle in hard-water cities.
If the answer is “a cup of tea in the evening”, Homie and a kettle filled from it is the cheaper route, and a perfectly good one.
Two more things to weigh. First, how hot water is made matters as much as having it. Because Homie Pro heats water as it is dispensed, nothing sits hot in a tank all day and no heater keeps cycling while the family is out. Second, there are a few jobs where a kettle still wins: anything that needs water at a full rolling boil, or a large volume of hot water at once for cooking. Plenty of Homie Pro homes keep a kettle for exactly those jobs and use the Hot button for everything else.
Hot water every day in your home? Homie Pro adds instant hot, a stainless-steel tank and Track for ₹4,000 more.

Track suits households where more than one person cares about how much water they drink: someone training for a run, a parent keeping an eye on a teenager’s water bottle, an elder whose family wants a simple daily routine, or a work-from-home desk where hours go by without a glass. Each person sets their own goal; nobody needs to carry a separate bottle or log drinks in a phone app.
If nobody in your home would use it, Track is not a reason to pay more on its own. The hot water and the steel tank are the bigger parts of the upgrade.
Choose Boon Homie If
- Hot water is an occasional need and a kettle covers it.
- You want RO with Water Profiles and WaterAI at the lower price.
- Nobody in the household is interested in tracking how much they drink.
Choose Boon Homie Pro If
- Several people in your home use hot water every day, especially through winter.
- You want purified water held in a stainless-steel tank.
- You would like each family member to have their own profile and daily goal.
- You want the kettle off the counter.
Neither has cold water. If chilled water from the purifier matters, look at a hot and cold unit instead. And if you have small children, plan Homie Pro’s mounting height so the Hot button sits above their reach. Our wall-mounted purifier guide has more on placement.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Boon Homie and Homie Pro?
Both purify water the same way, with UltraOsmosis RO and LED UV rated for input up to 2000 TDS, Water Profiles, Mineral Enhancers and WaterAI monitoring. Homie Pro adds instant hot water heated as it is dispensed, a stainless-steel storage tank, and Track, which gives each family member their own user ID and daily goal. Homie Pro has five buttons; Homie has three.
Is Boon Homie Pro worth ₹4,000 more than Homie?
It is worth it if several people in your home use hot water every day, if you want purified water held in a stainless-steel tank, or if family members would use Track to follow their own daily goals. If hot water is occasional and nobody would use Track, Homie with a kettle filled from it is the better value.
Does Boon Homie Pro purify water differently from Homie?
No. Homie Pro does everything Homie does: sediment pre-filtration, carbon for chlorine and chemical taste, an RO membrane rated for input up to 2000 TDS, and in-line LED UV before the tank, with the same Active, Daily and Bev Water Profiles and WaterAI monitoring. The upgrade is in hot water, the steel tank and Track, not in purification.
Does Boon Homie or Homie Pro give cold water?
Neither does. Boon Homie gives purified water at room temperature; Homie Pro adds instant hot water. Neither has a cooling system. If chilled water from the purifier is important, Boon Tall offers hot, cold and ambient water in a freestanding unit meant for large families and offices.
Can I use Boon Homie Pro during a power cut?
Homie Pro does everything Homie does, including Boon’s patented manual filling, which lets you draw stored, already-purified water by hand when the power is out. Purification itself needs power, and so does heating, so you will not get hot water or fresh purification until the power returns.
What does Track do on Boon Homie Pro?
Track gives each family member a user ID in the Boon app. You press Track on the unit to switch to yourself before dispensing, and each person can set their own daily goal. It is a simple way for a household to follow individual drinking habits without separate bottles or logging drinks in a phone app.
Same purification, plus instant hot water, a stainless-steel tank and Track. Boon Homie Pro, ₹25,900 at the time of writing.
