    Worth being straightforward about this, because both the marketing and the backlash overstate

    The pattern is consistent: heat plus oil plus open air is what emits. A

    and they are entitled to calculate it at a low air-change rate. A unit advertised for
    “up to 400 sq ft” may be rated at around 2 ACH. In a genuine Delhi winter, that
    same unit is honestly a 150–200 sq ft device. This is the gap that makes people conclude air
    purifiers do not work.

    The practical rule: take the coverage area printed on the box and
    treat the unit as suitable for roughly half of it. If that still covers your room, the

    Any device sold as an ozone generator, or an “activated oxygen”
    purifier, should be avoided for occupied rooms. Ozone is a respiratory irritant. Deliberately
    generating it in a space where people are breathing trades a particle problem for a gas

    Ionisers are a milder version of the same concern. They work by charging
    particles so they clump and fall out of the air — which lowers what a sensor measures without
